Venice was laid out as a planned city in the 1920s, and that original plan still shapes the island's streets and parks, with Mediterranean Revival buildings lining the downtown. The mainland grew outward in waves of ranch homes, villas and gated golf communities. Home improvement in Venice, FL means working across all of it, and every job starts with a free consultation where we listen first and don't push ideas you didn't ask for.

What we're asked to do, by part of town

Where you liveTypical project
On the island, near downtownCareful updates to older homes and condos, often keeping original character
Venice Gardens, South Venice and Venice EastReplacing original tile, opening up closed kitchens, swapping tubs for showers
Gated and 55+ communitiesOwner's suite makeovers, accessibility upgrades, flooring throughout
Condos near the Gulf and IntracoastalBathroom and kitchen remodels within association rules

This is a pattern, not a rule. A newer home in a golf community can need a full kitchen and an island cottage might only need fresh paint, but it gives you a sense of where Venice projects tend to start. Up the road, Nokomis and Osprey have their own pages, as do North Port and Englewood to the south and east.

Bathrooms built for the next twenty years

A frequent Venice request is a bathroom that's easier and safer to use: a low-threshold shower in place of a tub, grab bars backed by solid blocking, a comfort-height toilet and better lighting. Our Venice bathroom remodeling page explains how we schedule that work for seasonal residents.

Everything else under one roof

Rebuilding after the storms

Hurricane Ian in 2022 left many Venice-area homes with water-damaged floors, drywall and cabinets. Once a restoration company has dried the property out, we rebuild the interior with tile, vinyl plank and other materials that cope better with moisture, so the rooms are easier to recover if water comes in again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work in Venice's gated golf communities?
Yes. Gated communities usually need our crew registered at the gate in advance, and many set contractor hours and rules for trailers and debris. Homes there tend to be villas and single-family houses from the 1990s onward, so projects lean toward updating finishes: kitchens, flooring throughout and owner's suite bathrooms. Bring your community's contractor rules to the consultation.
Do Venice HOAs need to approve interior remodeling?
Many associations only care about exterior changes, but some also regulate interior work, especially in condos and villa buildings with shared walls and plumbing. Common requirements include an application, a contractor insurance certificate and limited work hours. Check your community documents or ask your manager, and we'll help supply whatever paperwork the association needs.
Can you replace carpet with tile or plank throughout a Venice villa?
Yes. Whole-home flooring is a natural single project in a villa, because it avoids mismatched transitions from room to room. We check the slab for flatness, plan where the floor meets existing tile in the kitchen or baths, and work in sections so you can keep living in the home. In attached villas, ask whether your association has sound rules for hard flooring.
