North Port is part 1970s block home and part brand-new subdivision. We help owners of both upgrade bathrooms, kitchens, floors and finishes, one room or the whole house.

Today's Home Services branded van

North Port covers a huge area for a Sarasota County city, and much of it was laid out long before most of the houses were built. North Port was largely platted by General Development Corporation, and many single-story block homes went up from the 1960s through the 1980s. New subdivisions have filled in more recently. That mix makes remodeling in North Port, FL unusually varied, and we work on both ends of it. The same GDC history shaped Port Charlotte just to the south, so if you know one, you'll recognize the other.

  1. Bathroom remodels. Older homes have small baths with dated tile and tired tubs, and newer homes often have plain fiberglass showers that owners want to upgrade. Our North Port bathroom remodeling page covers both in detail.
  2. New flooring. Carpet and older tile give way to waterproof vinyl plank flooring or new porcelain, often throughout the house so rooms flow together.
  3. Kitchen updates. New kitchen and bathroom cabinets, quartz or granite countertops, and backsplashes, or a full kitchen remodel when the layout needs to change.
  4. Water treatment. Scale on fixtures and glass is a good reason to look at water purification and filtration systems, including whole-house setups.
  5. Paint and trim. Fresh interior paint, new baseboards and crown moulding make a big difference in plain builder-grade rooms.

We also handle tile installation, tile and grout cleaning, shiplap and wood paneling, and epoxy garage floors.

After Hurricane Ian

Ian brought serious flooding to parts of North Port in 2022, and many homeowners have been rebuilding interiors since. If your home took on water, the order matters: drying and mold remediation come first, then the rebuild. Our partner Florida Fire & Flood handles restoration, and we focus on putting rooms back together: flooring, cabinets, bathrooms and finish work.

Planning around North Port's size

North Port stretches a long way, from older sections along US 41 and Price Boulevard to Wellen Park on the west side. Because many lots were sold individually, even a single street can mix homes of very different ages, finishes and construction quality. We keep that in mind when we visit: two neighbors with similar-looking houses may need entirely different plans.

Two kinds of houses, one approach

For a home built in 1978 or in 2022, we start with a free consultation, look at the space with you and give you an upfront price without a sales pitch. Older homes sometimes hide surprises, such as aging drain lines or old water damage, and we tell you about them when we find them. Newer homes usually have fewer unknowns, but builders sometimes skip details like proper shower waterproofing or blocking, so we check those too.

North Port is one of several communities in our Sarasota County service area, with Venice to the northwest and Englewood toward the Gulf. When you're ready to tackle a project, ask us for a free estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work on brand-new homes in North Port, or only older ones?
Both. Owners of older North Port homes usually call us to replace original bathrooms, kitchens and flooring. Owners of newer homes often want to upgrade builder-grade finishes, such as turning a basic shower into a tiled walk-in, adding a backsplash, swapping carpet for vinyl plank or installing better cabinets. The process and free consultation are the same either way.
My North Port home flooded during Hurricane Ian. Can you rebuild the interior?
Yes. Restoration comes first: our partner Florida Fire & Flood or another restoration company handles drying and mold, and then we install new flooring, cabinets, bathroom finishes, trim and paint. When rebuilding after a flood, we often recommend tile or waterproof vinyl plank and moisture-tolerant materials low on the walls, so any future water event is easier to recover from.
Is hard water common in North Port?
Hard water and mineral scale are common across much of the Gulf Coast, and many North Port homeowners notice white crust on shower glass and faucets. Homes on private wells can have their own water quality issues as well. We install whole-house filtration and hard-water treatment systems and can recommend an approach after looking at your setup.
